Avani is a Sanskrit word that means ‘the earth’.
We are a family owned winery and vineyard making premium cool-climate wines on the Mornington Peninsula. Through a minimal intervention approach to our winemaking we create wines that best express their site and the growing season.
Avani Syrah is made exclusively from grapes grown on our estate vineyard in Red Hill following organic and biodynamic principles. Our Amrit range features Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris from grapes sourced from other vineyards in the region which are farmed sustainably. In addition to the classics we also make small batches of skin-contact and pet-nat style wines.

Update: Due to ongoing Government restrictions our pop-up with EVL is currently on hold. We are hoping for some better news October. Where we are required to cancel your reservation due to Government restrictions, we will offer to reschedule the session or alternatively will provide a refund for any deposit already paid.
The cellar door is a rustic mudbrick building overlooking our vineyard in Red Hill. Open every weekend from 11am to 4pm you can join us for a seated wine tasting of our new release wines which includes our premium Avani label and our Amrit range. We are able to host groups of up to 6 people on a walk-in basis or you can email email@example.com to make a booking.
During the Spring and Summer months we collaborate with different chef’s to host a pop-up restaurant at the cellar door. These events usually feature a modern Indian or Asian share style menu which is matched with Avani wines.
