We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country and pay respect to the Boon Wurrung / Bunurong people, recognising their continuing connection to the land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Established by Shashi and Devendra Singh, Avani is a family owned and operated winery producing premium cool-climate wines on the Mornington Peninsula. Shashi manages her estate vineyard adopting biodynamic principles and the three additional sites they work with on the Peninsula are all farmed either organically or sustainably.
Winemakers Shashi and her son Rohit want each wine to tell the story of each site and the growing season. For them it is about minimising additions and being as gentle as possible during the winemaking process. Under this minimal intervention approach the wines are allowed to ferment with wild yeast, are unfiltered and unfined.
In addition to making syrah, pinot noir and chardonnay the duo also make a range of vibrant skin-contact varieties. The rustic and award winning cellar door overlooks the estate vineyard and is open every weekend from 11am to 5pm. Featured in 2022 as Gourmet Traveller’s Best Small Cellar Door for Mornington.
