Avani Cellar Door & Restaurant
Our winery restaurant overlooking the estate vineyard is open for lunch, drinks and snacks from 10am to 5pm every Thursday to Monday.
The restaurant serves an Indian inspired menu created by our good friend Chef Deepak Mishra (ex-Executive Chef of The Hotel Windsor, The Langham, Fairmont Raffles). The menu is all about keeping it simple and delicious, including the kind of food we love to eat, highlighting some amazing regional dishes, as well as re-imagined classics.
Our menu changes seasonally and we are gluten, vegetarian and vegan friendly.
Bookings are recommended and walk-ins are always welcome.

Wine Tasting
The Avani Cellar Door is open for wine tasting and sales from 10am to 5pm every Thursday to Monday.
Enjoy a seated wine tasting experience as one of our expert vignerons guides you through five current release wines, including the premium Syrah from the estate vineyard. Learn about the history of the site and each varietal, while receiving expert food pairing suggestions to enhance the tasting.
Avani’s viticulture and winemaking – led by Shashi and her son Rohit – strictly follows natural farming practices to promote fertile soil health and vineyard balance. A minimal-intervention vinification process follows, ensuring the wines authentically reflect their respective vineyard sites and growing seasons.
The tasting fee is $20pp which is waived upon the purchase of one bottle per person. We also offer an Avani Syrah vertical wine flight which takes you through three of our museum releases.
As we are a small cellar door are only able to host small groups (max 8 people).

Avani is a family run winery located on the Mornington Peninsula. The cellar door and restaurant are nestled into the rolling hills of Red Hill South and overlook the estate vineyard.
Our style is fun, warm and sophisticated. Our menus are Indian inspired and are designed to be shared with friends and family.
As second-generation hospitality folk we’re all about looking after people and would love to host your next event.
Exclusive Hire
Exclusive use of the Cellar Door & Kitchen provides a versatile space for any event or celebration for between 30 to 80 guests. We offer an Indian inspired share-style menu for our seated lunch events. For cocktail functions we offer canapes & bowl dishes.
We welcome all celebrations including baby showers, engagement parties, intimate weddings, birthday parties, pre wedding celebrations (e.g. mehndi night, sangeet parties etc.) to name a few.
Group celebrations
Whether you are looking for a small intimate gathering or have a larger group who would be happy to be hosted in the broader Cellar Kitchen space we will make sure that your event will be a special and memorable one. We offer an Indian inspired share-style menu for our seated lunch events.
